Security Settings¶
Protect your Voxum account with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.
Changing Your Password¶
When to Change Your Password¶
Change your password if:
- It's been a long time since you last changed it
- You think someone might know it
- You've used the same password elsewhere that was breached
- You're sharing it with someone who should no longer have access
How to Change Your Password¶
- Go to Profile or Settings
- Find the Security or Password section
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password twice
- Click Update Password
Password Requirements¶
Strong passwords should:
- Be at least 8 characters long
- Include uppercase and lowercase letters
- Include numbers
- Include special characters (!@#$%^&*)
- Not be a common word or phrase
Good examples:
Tr0ub4dor&3MyC@tL0vesF!sh2024
Avoid:
password123yourcompanyname12345678
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)¶
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone knows your password, they can't log in without the second factor.
How 2FA Works¶
- You enter your password (first factor)
- You enter a code from your phone or email (second factor)
- Both must be correct to log in
Setting Up 2FA with an App (Recommended)¶
Using an authenticator app is more secure than email.
Popular apps:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
Setup steps:
- Go to Security Settings
- Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Choose Authenticator App
- Scan the QR code with your app
- Enter the code shown in the app
- Save your backup codes

Setting Up 2FA with Email¶
If you prefer, you can receive codes via email.
- Go to Security Settings
- Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Choose Email
- Verify your email address
- Save your backup codes
Email 2FA Limitations
Email-based 2FA is less secure than app-based because email can be intercepted. Use an app if possible.
Backup Codes¶
When you enable 2FA, you'll receive backup codes. These are one-time codes you can use if you lose access to your phone or email.
Important:
- Save them in a secure place
- Each code can only be used once
- Keep them separate from your password
- Don't store them on your phone
Using 2FA to Log In¶
After enabling 2FA:
- Enter your email and password
- You'll be prompted for a code
- Open your authenticator app or check your email
- Enter the current code
- You're logged in!
Disabling 2FA¶
To turn off two-factor authentication:
- Go to Security Settings
- Find the 2FA section
- Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication
- Enter your password to confirm
- 2FA is now off
Warning
Only disable 2FA if necessary. Your account is more secure with it enabled.
Trusted Devices¶
After using 2FA, you may have the option to trust a device so you don't need to enter a code every time.
Managing Trusted Devices¶
- Go to Security Settings
- Find Trusted Devices
- View the list of devices
- Remove any you don't recognize
When to Remove a Device¶
Remove a device if:
- You no longer use it
- It was lost or stolen
- You don't recognize it
- You're using a shared computer
Session Security¶
