Protect your Voxum account with strong passwords and two-factor authentication.

Changing Your Password

When to Change Your Password

Change your password if:

  • It's been a long time since you last changed it
  • You think someone might know it
  • You've used the same password elsewhere that was breached
  • You're sharing it with someone who should no longer have access

How to Change Your Password

  1. Go to Profile or Settings
  2. Find the Security or Password section
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter your new password twice
  5. Click Update Password

Password Requirements

Strong passwords should:

  • Be at least 8 characters long
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Include special characters (!@#$%^&*)
  • Not be a common word or phrase

Good examples:

  • Tr0ub4dor&3
  • MyC@tL0vesF!sh2024

Avoid:

  • password123
  • yourcompanyname
  • 12345678

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone knows your password, they can't log in without the second factor.

How 2FA Works

  1. You enter your password (first factor)
  2. You enter a code from your phone or email (second factor)
  3. Both must be correct to log in

Using an authenticator app is more secure than email.

Popular apps:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy

Setup steps:

  1. Go to Security Settings
  2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Choose Authenticator App
  4. Scan the QR code with your app
  5. Enter the code shown in the app
  6. Save your backup codes

2FA Setup

Setting Up 2FA with Email

If you prefer, you can receive codes via email.

  1. Go to Security Settings
  2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  3. Choose Email
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Save your backup codes

Email 2FA Limitations

Email-based 2FA is less secure than app-based because email can be intercepted. Use an app if possible.

Backup Codes

When you enable 2FA, you'll receive backup codes. These are one-time codes you can use if you lose access to your phone or email.

Important:

  • Save them in a secure place
  • Each code can only be used once
  • Keep them separate from your password
  • Don't store them on your phone

Using 2FA to Log In

After enabling 2FA:

  1. Enter your email and password
  2. You'll be prompted for a code
  3. Open your authenticator app or check your email
  4. Enter the current code
  5. You're logged in!

Disabling 2FA

To turn off two-factor authentication:

  1. Go to Security Settings
  2. Find the 2FA section
  3. Click Disable Two-Factor Authentication
  4. Enter your password to confirm
  5. 2FA is now off

Warning

Only disable 2FA if necessary. Your account is more secure with it enabled.

Trusted Devices

After using 2FA, you may have the option to trust a device so you don't need to enter a code every time.

Managing Trusted Devices

  1. Go to Security Settings
  2. Find Trusted Devices
  3. View the list of devices
  4. Remove any you don't recognize

When to Remove a Device

Remove a device if:

  • You no longer use it
  • It was lost or stolen
  • You don't recognize it
  • You're using a shared computer

Session Security

  2. Find Active Sessions
  3. See where you're logged in
  4. Log out of sessions you don't recognize
